The Enigma helps players reach incredible distances with a flight pattern designed to carry easily as it soars down the fairway. Molded to combine a high speed turn with a long distance fade, both experienced players and relatively new players will be able to utilize the Enigma to its fullest potential. The Enigma glides with turn at the start of its flight while its stability gradually takes over, keeping the disc airborne as it transitions into a fade for the finish of the flight. This level of understability to stability allows players to hit any number of lines depending on the angle of release. Use the Enigma for hyzers or anhyzers and add new distances to any shot in your bag.
The Enigma is like a slightly less stable DD3. Out of the box I would say it flies like a slightly seasoned Star Destroyer which is quite nice. The glide is great on these too! I love the Vapor plastic but I feel that the Neo plastic has a slightly better grip but it’s a great disc either way.
Review from your typical 300' throwing average disc golfer
Picked up a Neo Enigma 168g at my local disc shop and gave it about 2 dozen throws today.
Feel: The Evolution plastic feels similar to Star plastic but is a little bit grippier to me. That's a plus b/c I have dry hands as it is. Rim is comfortable without the sharp edge that's typical on a new disc. The firmness is around the same as Innova Star as well.
Flight: (I've been playing again for 8 months, am in my early 40's, and typically don't throw over 320') First few throws were dumpers (RHBH), but when I loosened up a bit they were coming out like my 170g Star Destroyers with about 15-20 extra feet (extra glide perhaps?). The 2 fade is definitely closer to a 3, but I was able to see the -1 turn on a few throws that went out to 280-300'. Once I got the disc flight down I noticed that it was dependable. Both backhands and forehand flights acted as they should. Not a single backhand or forehand turned over.
Noted features: Big skipper, strong/dependable fade, fought well in a 10mph wind
Since my brand new Enigma is throwing like my seasoned Star Destroyer I am expecting it to develop more high speed turn in the weeks to come. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone who likes Wraiths, Trespass, Destroyers, etc. That being said... it is another option to an overabundant category of distant drivers.
Surprisingly nice. fast and accurate with power.
Sadly this nice disc already found a lake to call home. Enigmas fly like broken in DD3s out of the box probably my longest disc.
